Fodele is famous for its hand woven textiles and handbags that women in the region still create up to this day. The Cretan art of weaving and embroidery was also taught by the students of the School of Education of Heraklion. For their craftsmanship they received an embroidery award.
A WALK THROUGH FODELE
The visitor can walk through the idyllic streets of the village; enjoy the valley bursting with orange and lemon trees and try Cretan Tsikoudia at a traditional ‘kafeneio’ (café).
